LISTEN ON ALL PLATFORMS

It started in 1971, when Minneapolis had a booming R&B scene and The Valdons—a four-man vocal group—were its crown jewel. They had just dropped their debut 7”, but despite their local buzz, the record didn’t break nationally, and the group soon split.

Four decades later, The Valdons reunited to cut a 7” for Secret Stash Records. Two pressings sold out fast, and that was that—until nearly a decade later, when the record found new life online, racking up over 30 million streams in the last two years.

Now, for the first time ever, The Valdons’ 1971 studio recordings will be made available digitally. It begins with their ultra-rare cover of “I (Who Have Nothing)” —previously released only once in 2012 on a limited 7” that now fetches over $250. At last, it’s streaming everywhere.
