Released in 1969 on Leo Austell’s Brainstorm label, these two sides sit in the blues/soul crossover coming out of Chicago at the time, where Roy Hytower was active as both a guitarist and singer.
“You Please Me” leans playful, built around Hytower’s easy vocal and a string of vivid, good-humored lines, while “Your Good Man Is Going Bad” turns more direct, delivering a warning from a man pushed past his limit.
