Betty Everett "Sings For You"
Share
Betty Everett Sings For You collects four early sides recorded in Chicago with producer Leo Austell and originally released by the Leaner brothers’ One-Derful! Records across two singles in 1962 and 1963.
The set includes “I’ve Got A Claim On You,” “I’ll Be There,” “Please Love Me” (co-written by Monk Higgins), and “Your Love Is Important To Me.” These recordings capture Everett early in her career, prior to her later work on Vee Jay and Uni.
A concise snapshot of early ’60s Chicago R&B, with Everett’s powerful vocals already in place.
